Deadsure captures pieces of the greatest 90’s hardcore bands like Hoover and Braid and Maximillian Colby and Rorschach and you’re probably thinking “those bands don’t sound anything alike.” That’s true. And Deadsure doesn’t really sound like any of them, but there’s a similarly brilliant dynamic to the way these guys play music, a sense of urgency. There’s a weight to it that grabs you and makes you tingle in your bathing suit area. Despair is beholden to offer itself as a guide when the skyline is hopeless and the vultures mock you. Your guide has been told to lead you to light, from the cave to youthful colours, from shadows to the real. You saw things quite differently when the sun shone. It’s not that you’re super now, your blood still spills when your beaten. It’s just you’re more willing now to witness your fears as their seeding. A limited posthumous second release of the Deadsure LP. 150 copies on white, each with a cd, hand-packaged in a chipboard jacket. |
